SWARM: Illustration Friday

"Swarm" usually brings to mind creatures one might swat away to keep from being stung or bitten. I decided to go with a pleasant swarm that one might actually enjoy.

Daddy and Harriet

Daddy tries to make friends with Harry.

The Workman House

The awesome "Dr. Seuss" house at Armstrong and Preston in Dallas. It
is actually the Workman House. Apparently its unique looks caused
quite a bit of controversy when it was built. I love it! Kudos to them
for daring to be different in the land of pop-'n-serve tract houses
and Gestapo HOAs!

Visiting the School

We're visiting my school to show off the mural to my parents.

Layers: Illustration Friday

Utah's Delicate Arch is formed of layers of ancient sandstone in brilliant hues of red and orange. This is a four color monoprint I did a few years ago at an art teacher training.

SWEATER: Illustration Friday

While visiting Lexi in Philadelphia for Thanksgiving, I was introduced to crochet graffiti also known as yarn bombing. I did indeed see a tree wearing a sweater. Very cool! See more here: yarnbombing.com.
Thanks again to all of my awesome supporters who donated to my art students through Donors Choose. Your kindness does wonders for the kids!

REVERSE: Illustration Friday

In reverse, I curl up warm and comfortable - in my kitty's lap. I wonder, if she shifts and stretches, would I get annoyed as she does when I disturb her nap?
We're on our fifth day of school cancellations due to bad weather, so I've been spending a lot of time with cats on my lap.

SURRENDER: Illustration Friday

For the third day in a row, our district superintendent surrendered to the wintry weather and closed schools. Yay! We celebrated by lounging about in our pyjamas and baking cookies.
Thanks again to my wonderful Donorschoose donors who have once again funded supplies for my classroom!
