ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: PREPARE

The pangolin spent much of her time putting up ant and termite preserves to prepare for the rainy season.
This is the first work I've done with the liquid watercolors Lexi sent me for my birthday. Thanks Lexi!!
Pangolins are very cool. They're kind of like an armoured anteater. Unfortunately, they're going extinct because of their snob appeal as a food and a belief in Asia that they can serve as an exotic form of Viagra. So sad! Pop pills - NOT pangolins! Click here to learn more about pangolins and support their conservation.
If kids are more your speed than pangolins, click here to help my underprivileged elementary art students!

REVERSE: Illustration Friday

In reverse, I curl up warm and comfortable - in my kitty's lap. I wonder, if she shifts and stretches, would I get annoyed as she does when I disturb her nap?
We're on our fifth day of school cancellations due to bad weather, so I've been spending a lot of time with cats on my lap.

Savour: Illustration Friday

The picniking pangolin savoured the crunch of each and every ant that crossed his blanket that afternoon.
Hooray for pangolins! Native to Asia and Africa, these unique mammals look a little like the child of an artichoke and an armadillo. Last summer we visited the Angkor Center for Conservation of Biodiversity. They had a pangolin rescued from poachers and they're working on starting up a breeding program.
