Burial Society

An organization that takes care of final arrangements for Long Islanders who can't send their deceased to Nassau for preparations.

We didn't start the fire

Hypodermics on the shore... Biohazard suits from the sinking of the El Farro and a bale of plastic bottles, likely a float from a Haitian raft wreck. Sad stuff washes ashore.

Jeff's Seaside Sundries

After today's beachcombing Sea Kierst now has new Sketchers shoes, a five year supply of Tide detergent (brought in but the tide), and perhaps a lifetime supply of Axe body wash and deodorants. Sad fact; our oceans and beaches are drowning in plastic crap. It's easy to ignore because touristy beaches are cleaned regularly, but wild beaches like the ones here on Long Island are a different story.

Beach Cobbler

Beach cobbler. I lost my soles while searching for glass floats today. No worries, I found a washed up roll of tape within a few minutes and taped the shoes back together.
Further down the beach we found a selection of neatly paired Mary Janes.

Merry Christmas from Blue Hole Villa

Blue Hole Villa Style

Sandy and Jeff

Sandy is my mother's borrowed dog. (Actually Atil & April's from down the road.) She comes by every morning for leftovers from the night before. She's nice but a bit of a kleptomaniac. She stole my shoe the first night I was here. My mom found it on the road the next morning.
